Eat Local, Eat Larkhall

As Autumn draws to a close, Transition Larkhall's Food Group has been busy harvesting. In addition, we staged an 'Eat Local, Eat Larkhall' event in Larkhall Square at the beginning of October.

Celebrating the fact that so much quality food is produced very near to our corner of Bath, our trestles held a variety of locally produced loaves, jams, jellies and chutneys, along with free hot pizza slices to take away.
The main attraction was two very similar baskets of groceries, one locally produced food and wine, and the other bought from a supermarket. We invited Saturday morning shoppers to guess the how many Food Miles the items in the supermarket basket would have travelled, the prize being the groceries. Congratulations and bon appetit to our winner!

A big "Thank You" to Larkhall Butchers, Goodies Delicatessen and Avonleigh Wines for sponsoring the event and donating items in the local basket.
